Diesel Technician

Description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team in Horseheads, NY specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools. Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles. Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies. Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools. In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
(Intermediate):
Completes complex internal engine repairs Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision
(Advanced):
Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools Larger more complicated engine rebuilds. Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred) Small engine/generator experience is a plus Total truck chassis repair experience a plus
This position does not require a CDL but would be nice to have, a CDL may be required to obtain upon hire.
+ A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire + Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
This position will require a complete DMV driving report but no Driver Qualification file.

+ A current valid license is required for this role + Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience + This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
Compensation and Benefits

$23.84 to 38.96

Based on Experience
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
