Shop/Fleet Manager Arcadia, FL (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=8780+NW+Bethel+Farms+Road+Arcadia+FL+USA+34266) Description The Shop/Fleet Manager is responsible for the efficient equipment maintenance, purchase parts and inventory to maintain equipment.
Also responsible for creating a professional and cordial working atmosphere for supervisors and workers.
Purchasing parts and inventory includes power tools, small machines, parts and chemicals.
The Shop/Fleet Manager is also responsible for promoting and maintaining a proactive safety culture throughout the company.
You are accountable for the equipment repairs of the company and road worthiness of all assets and focused on the responsibility to ensure all compliance goals are met.
Essential Duties: Equipment Management · Maintain in RTA System all equipment files with purchase and repair documents, warranties, owner’s manual, and work orders.
· Produce vehicle repair reports and quarterly reports with accumulative totals, as requested by management.
· Use the shop resources in an effective manner.
· Assist in maintaining equipment list in RTA by location.
· Deploys equipment; coordinates the retrieval of equipment.
· Streamline purchase order procedures for purchases, repairs, and inventory.
· Advise decision makers about equipment expenses and/or costly trends that might affect productivity or profits.
· Maintain positive daily communication with Supervisors.
· Takes care of DOT requirements that relate to the equipment.
· Prioritize repairs based on current needs to keep business flowing and meeting customer’s needs. · Track all DVIRs and make sure reported repairs are completed.
Equipment Maintenance · Develop plan of action and work schedules to maximize production and profits of Bethel Farms shop effectively and efficiently.
· Supervise and oversee all the maintenance and daily usage of all equipment. · Coordinate the timely repair, preventative maintenance, and modification necessary.
· Determine cost efficiency of contracting external service/repairs. · Inspect equipment on a regular basis to comply with Bethel’s safety polices.
· Coordinate training sessions for new equipment with operators as needed.
· Ensure that equipment is on schedule for preventative maintenance. · Maintain in RTA System all records of the care and repairs of the equipment. · Communicate with dispatch to ensure necessary repairs to fleet equipment are complete.
· Assist drivers with roadside breakdowns on semi, trailer, and forklift.
This could entail dispatching Bethel mechanic depending on nature and location, hiring mobile mechanic if necessary.
· Track costs of repairs and general maintenance and provide vehicle repair reports.
· Under the advisement of VP of Turf: + Come up with plans to lower maintenance costs.
+ Track how well the company is doing at caring for equipment. Inventory · Maintain sustainable inventory levels in RTA System considering needs, cash flow, and storage space, leveraging volume to obtain best pricing.
· Perform RTA System audits, forecasting, replenishment, and investment analysis and present reports to decision makers.
· Build and maintain relationships with multiple vendors to ensure the best pricing and best delivery/service possible.
· Prepare and provide quarterly inventory reports.
Supervision · Supervise mechanics and other shop personnel, and suggest hiring and termination needs to VP of Turf.
· Provide daily direction and reasonable coaching/training to shop employees.
· Provide safety training and leads by example.
· Hold monthly Shop Team Meetings/Safety Tailgate Meetings. Safety · Ensure all safety manuals, policies, programs and practices are implemented.
· Review all vehicular, passenger and employee accidents/incidents for determination of cause and preventability, identifying potential trends to be addressed in future training efforts as well as ensuring that retraining and safety points are assessed according to company policy.
Conduct regular audits of driver’s equipment.
· Implement and support safety incentive programs.
· Promote safe work practices and conditions in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
Non-Essential Duties · Member of the Safety Committee.
· Represent the company in a professional and customer-oriented manner.
· Build positive relationships with internal and external customers.
· Maintains a positive and respectful environment with coworkers and contacts.
· Cover for drivers, when needed.
· Performs special projects, as assigned.
Requirements Requirements + CDL A with previous flatbed experience is preferred. + At least two years of equipment management experience in an agricultural environment.
Computer literate.
+ Familiar with the type of licensing and permits required for drivers.
+ Good mathematical and decision-making skills.
+ Superior internal/external customer service.
+ Superior internal/external communication skills.
+ Experience working with purchase orders and managing part inventory.
+ Knowledge of basic to intermediate accounting principles. + Some Spanish speaking ability, preferred.

Physical Demands of the position While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to stand for long periods of time.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time salaried position.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
This position may require long hours and weekend work.
Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
