Candidate will drive a flatbed throughout the yard to transport steel beams and assist in backing up and prepping for loads coming in and out of the facility Candidates will begin directly after some training as a driver however initially they will spend most of their time learning placement of materials and the 3 areas that steel and steel plate is stored Candidates will be expected to do more than just yard jockey work and could include forklift operation, and must be able to walk at least 50% of their shift if required to locate materials or assist crane operators.
Candidates must be okay with exposure to the elements as they will travel from the facility to both steel yards (about 500 yards apart) to find steel beams or plating. Will be working around flatbed trucks and railcar systems, and must adhere to all safety rules (not walking in between stacks and always being visible to other associates) Candidates must understand that this is a Physically demanding position from that standpoint that they walk about 5 miles per day and the environment is not traditional manufacturing Candidates must work well with a trainer and on a team as the safety and communication in the facility is crucial to their safety and success. Candidate must recall and remember various locations of stored product, document inventory via paper and WMS with proficient computer skills Candidates must be able to learn and retain information solely based on color as their inventory system and coding system are painted beam ends.
They must be able to see color clearly and memorize locations and color system.

Qualifications:
Heavy industrial experience or construction experience is required, Ideal candidates may have an interest in getting their CDL Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, (although most is reaching, stooping, squatting etc as most product must be lifted by crane.) Must be able to operate equipment effectively and safely and have worked around heavy equipment in construction or similar work to steel. Training will be TBD based on the start date.
They must be flexible for training on day shift for a few weeks prior to moving to their off shift Shifts Open 1st shift yard jockey role Candidates must all be present for the safety meeting at the start of each shift, therefore must be at work @6:40am for 7am shift
