Apply today! About the role SIGN-ON BONUS - $5,000 (1/3 upon hire, 1/3 after 6 months, 1/3 after 1 year) CDL drivers carry hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Covanta facilities and the Client's sites.
Drivers will be able to operate various equipment, including vacuum tankers, trucks, vans, trailers, and roll-off trailers. The CDL Driver must have a good motor vehicle record and operate all vehicles following OSHA and DOT requirements and all local, state, and federal laws.
Responsibilities: Safely operate equipment following DOT regulations and company policies and regulations.
Drive commercial vehicles to pick up safely and transport waste to a designated location while meeting scheduled appointments and following all DOT regulations. Ensure the placarding of vehicles meets DOT regulations.
Maintain paperwork, including expense reports, time sheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets.
Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
Secure cargo before and during transit.
Complete additional assigned duties.
