Route Driver
to join our team in
Vancouver, WA
.
Shift is Monday-Friday

Start time is 5:30 AM and ends when route is complete; (generally 9-10 hours/day.)

, with occasional Saturdays as needed.

Union starting rate of pay is $30.70/HR.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solidwaste.Wasteexperience preferred , but not required. + Ability to read an electronic route tablet and service each customer identified on the route or assigned by the dispatcher. + Ability to operate hydraulic lift (from inside the cab) to service 700+garbage cartsand dispose of trash at designated facilities. + Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids,safetyequipment, and tires. + Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers. + Courteousinteraction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.​
WORKING CONDITIONS AND

PHYSICAL

EFFORT:
+ Extensivephysicalactivity.
Requires strenuousphysicalwork;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds many times throughout an 8+ hour shift. + Work environment involves exposure tophysicalrisks such as moving mechanical parts.
This requires following basicsafetyprecautions. + The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
Noise level is usually moderate.
MINIMUM JOB
Requirements:
+ Valid Class BCDLwithair brakesendorsement as a minimum. + CleanDrivingRecord. + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. + Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete DOT pre- and post-trip inspections.
