CDL TRUCK DRIVER
(LIVE HAUL)
SHIFT
: 2nd-3rd (typically Monday-Thursday (approximately 4:00 P.M.
to 2:00 A.M.)
Pay
: per load
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
: class A CDL required
Requirements:
Working as a Live Haul driver candidate must:
+ Follow all company and DOT procedures and policies
+ Pre and post trips
+ Use J.J.
Keller electronic log system.
+ Follow all Lytx drive camera rules
+ Pick up loads of empty cages at the truck shop or plant and take to farm
+ Find and navigate to farms on all kinds of roads
+ park the truck or drop the trailer in a safe location for loading
+ Buck and un-buck chicken cages
+ When the truck is loaded with chickens, the driver will safely deliver the load to the plant where the load is dropped.
The driver will then hook to an empty trailer to take back to the farm.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Hot/Cold Weather or Wet/Icy Weather (driving in all weather conditions)/Dust, dirt, grime, and working with live animals/ Working along roadside or at the farm, or processing plant dock environment or other uncontrolled environments
QUALIFICATIONS:
• CDL (class A)
• High School diploma or GED desired
• 21 years of age
• Must be able to read and write English
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must be able to think and react quickly
•
1 year recent verifiable commercial driving experience operating equipment similar in type to that which would be operated at Pilgrim’s is required.
• No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 5 years
• No more than 3 moving violations nor any major preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• No preventable accidents in the last 12 months.
• Must be able to physically perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• Must be able to work 7 days a week
(usually 5 days a week)
