JOB SUMMARY The Container Delivery Driver operates a variety of equipment, including truck, trailer and forklift to load, unload, secure and transport commercial containers to and from customer locations.
This position will also perform minor container repairs in the field. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Report to work at designated time in company uniform and with required personal protective equipment (PPE). 2.
Perform pre-trip inspection to ensure that the assigned truck is fully-fueled and is safe and legal to operate before leaving the yard. 3.
Complete work orders as assigned in a safe and efficient manner. 4.
Record information either electronically or on paper as required. 5.
Perform post-trip truck inspection, make sure the cab is clean and the Vehicle Condition Report (VCR) is turned in. 6.
Maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, i.e.
daily hours of service, and reports immediately to dispatch and the supervisor if in danger of being out of compliance. 7.
Report any moving violations incurred during work hours to the Safety Department at the end of the shift. 8.
Report any personal moving violations or accidents to the Safety Department within 72 hours. 9.
Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS - At least one year of medium- to heavy-truck driving experience - Excellent medium or heavy truck driving skills - Written and verbal communication skills in English - Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations - Ability to follow verbal and written instructions - Available to work scheduled shifts, including nights, holiday and weekends - Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail - Ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers and to assist with issue resolution REQUIRED LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS - Valid Class A commercial drivers license - Safe driving record for the past five years - Valid medical card or the ability to obtain one
