JOB SUMMARY:
The Field Equipment Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles and equipment located in multiple remote project locations.
This position serves as the primary contact concerning the vehicle and equipment fleet and operations.
They will also guide and ensure implementation and use of the E360 equipment maintenance and tracking system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible and accountable for fleet and equipment acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, inspection, repair, replacement, and disposal - Develop operations systems by determining equipment storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; and developing processes for acquisition, maintenance, equipment utilization, and fleet management. - Track the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment vehicles, and keep accurate log of maintenance/repairs for equipment and vehicles - Responsible for performing various service operations by inspecting, maintaining and repairing companyequipment and vehicles. - Support DOT compliance and reporting program for vehicles and CDL drivers when required. - Lead and create effective teams through diligent management and engaged leadership - Serve as the primary authority with decision-making responsibility for team deliverables - Serve as main interface with PMs for project requirements for equipment and vehicles - Lead a proactive safety culture and be the groups safety champion. - Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. - Perform other duties as directed.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:
This position supervises the Mechanics and Mechanic/Expediter - Managing the workflow of employees, creating team schedules and delegating tasks - Interviewing potential new hire mechanics and mechanic helpers - Managing the mechanics schedules and communicating the schedule with 8 or less mechanics and mechanic helpers for multiple locations - Assessing the work performance of employees and identifying areas that need improvement - Ensuring that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met - Training and onboarding new hires to make sure they understand their roles - Setting goals for workers and making sure they comply with the companys plans and vision - Reporting performance records and evaluations to HR and senior management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication methods. - Ability to work independently and work cooperatively with others; ability to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a friendly and positive manner. - Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, and make decisions - Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines - Ability to effectively lead people, teams, and projects. - Ability to direct tasks, manage team deliverables, mentor junior staff, and ensure accountability for team objectives. - Ability to lead collaborations and resolve team/interpersonal conflicts. - Serve as positional expert for clients and the organization - Able to hold accountability and drive responsibility for the teams business and financial results.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 years of experience as a Equipment Supervisor or similar role including logistics management - Knowledge of Equipment Management processes and systems - Working knowledge of MS Office and experience in Word and Excel - Experience in equipment procurement including service and warranty - Experience in DOT compliance and reporting programs - Forklift Operation Certification - Experience as a mechanic preferred - Valid state drivers license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Companys Driving Policy. - Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screening.
