P urpose: The Lawn and Garden Sales Specialist/Yard Manager provides product expertise and supports customers in selling residential mowing and compact utility equipment.
This position is also responsible for keeping the dealership lot in a professional appearance, organized, and safe.
This position works with LandMark Transport loading and unloading equipment according to LandMark Implement’s safety policies.
The Lawn and Garden Sales Specialist/Yard Manager supports all departments to run smoothly and efficiently, including parts delivery if needed and provides assistance to the service department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: + Sells residential mowing and compact utility equipment within a defined area.
+ Develops and maintains customer accounts, following a structured sales process.
+ Stays updated on product knowledge and competitive market trends.
+ Reports customer activities and trends to sales management.
+ Understands and explains financing options for equipment.
+ Collaborates with John Deere Landscapes branches for equipment display and sales.
+ Organizes product demos, clinics, trade shows, and promotional events.
+ Maintains a safe and organized lot, assisting with equipment loading/unloading.
+ Performs property upkeep, including mowing, trimming, snow/ice removal, and light maintenance.
+ Operates various equipment (skid loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.) for dealership needs.
+ Assists with parts and handles deliveries as needed.
+ Conducts routine maintenance on power equipment.
+ Adheres to all safety rules and policies.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications General
Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent + Valid driver's license, CDL preferred + Ability to operate various types of equipment and power tools + Familiar with Agriculture Equipment usage and operation + Basic Mechanical abilities + Excellent communication and time management skills + Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly + Excellent Customer Service Skills + Ability to learn about mowing and compact utility products and landscape industry + College degree preferred Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the job duties, the employee must regularly lift and/or move 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting.
Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as needed .
Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
