Essential Functions:
The Mechanic must be detail oriented as they are responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and making repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions and electronics in all equipment used by PSI Industrial Solutions, Inc.
and sister companies.
This includes preventive routine maintenance on heavy duty diesel industrial vacuum trucks and high-pressure water pumps.
Performing routine administrative duties, such as ordering, tracking repair data by equipment, etcetera, is required.
Qualifications:
1.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English at a level sufficient to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in all situations.
2.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
3.
Must possess current ASE and DOT Vehicle Inspection Certificates and possess a valid Class A CDL.
4.
Insurable by PSI's carrier in order to drive service vehicles.
5.
Knowledge of pumps including hydraulic, pneumatic and high-pressure water.
6.
Familiarity and compliance with all laws, policies and practices relating to safe working conditions.
7.
Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery.
8.
Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
9.
Physically capable of routinely lifting 65 pounds, wearing required protective clothing, repetitively bending, squatting and kneeling if required.
10.
Available to work Sunday through Saturday as needed.
Areas of Responsibility:
1.
Promotes safety as the number one priority and quality as the number two priority on the job.
2.
Works with the Purchasing Department in maintaining appropriate inventory of repair parts.
3.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs all equipment used by PSI and sister companies, including brakes, transmissions, electronics, pumps, hydraulics, fuel injectors, suspensions and electrical systems.
4.
Develops, maintains and keeps an accurate record of a Preventive Maintenance Schedule on each piece of equipment used by the companies.
5.
Assists in the repair and maintenance of the building and grounds.
6.
Secures high value items to prevent theft.
7.
Performs and keeps record of periodic inspections.
8.
Responds to emergency repair calls as needed.
9.
Abides by all Standard Operating Procedures.
10.
Facilitates effective communications including procedures for equipment repairs, red tagging and returning repaired equipment back into inventory.
11.
Assures that all equipment is in proper working condition before it leaves the shop.
12.
Encourages a team approach atmosphere; maintains a positive, respectful and professional attitude; contributes to the continuous improvement philosophy; performs other duties as deemed necessary.
13.
Maintains positive customer, vendor and employee relations for the company.
14.
Ensures proper housekeeping of the shop and other areas where work is performed, as necessary.
15.
Assists the Operations Manager and EHS Director in proper equipment utilization training and re-training of employees when requested.
16.
Attends training sessions and meetings with employees, staff, vendors and customers as directed.
17.
Maintains driver's log sheet for any company issued vehicle and submits it weekly.
18.
Complies with all laws, company policies/ procedures and customer rules/ regulations.
