Senior Onsite DOT Delivery Driver

Position Profile
The Senior Onsite DOT Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, pick-up, and relocation of customer packages and mail, meeting customer requirements while ensuring compliance with federal DOT regulations.
The role includes maintaining delivery safety standards and requires strong customer service skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Package Handling and Delivery
: + Ensure proper receiving, sorting, and PO processing of packages and mail. + Load and secure packages/mail in the delivery vehicle (boxed van/truck). + Pick up mail and packages from customer locations and deliver them to the correct delivery points. + Ensure that all mail and packages are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
DOT Compliance
: + Maintain log books in accordance with DOT regulations (either electronic or manual). + Perform pre and post-trip reviews to ensure the vehicle is safe, clean, and compliant with all DOT and state laws. + Participate in safety programs to ensure adherence to safety standards.
Customer Service and Communication
: + Provide strong customer service and address customer needs promptly. + Pre-call customers when applicable to ensure smooth operations. + Maintain professional appearance in accordance with site dress code. + Ensure all paperwork is signed and processed correctly.
Vehicle and Equipment Operation
: + Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, stair climbers, and pallet jacks, as needed. + Handle oversized and overweight packages. + Follow all accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures.
Additional Duties
: + Assist with loading and off-loading trucks as required. + Assist in the training of new delivery drivers on current routes. + Evaluate and properly handle HAZMAT, perishable, and standard packages. + Ensure the correct handling and transportation of perishables, including refrigeration storage and delivery. + Maintain the ability to transport items in compliance with DOT requirements. + Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Required
: + Safe driving record and history. + Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations. + Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with company policy. + Pass a road test. + Valid and current medical card is required. + Minimum age of 20 years, with a valid driver’s license in the state of residence. + High school diploma or equivalent education. + Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) as required by state law. + Ability to read maps and use GPS (electronic or traditional). + Training related to handling, identifying, and distributing special materials (e.g., HAZMAT, perishables).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Ability to physically handle oversized and overweight packages. + Identify at-risk behaviors and make quick corrections as needed. + Strong customer service, presentation, and communication skills. + Familiarity with smartphones/tablets and hand-held electronic technology. + Adequate reading and math skills and ability to write legibly. + May be required to be certified in the operation of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, stair climber).
Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands

Work Environment
: The job is performed in a variety of conditions, including office, warehouse, and van/truck environments with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature and noise levels.
Physical Demands
: + Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling to service equipment. + Lifting and carrying mail/packages weighing up to 50 lbs. + Ability to work independently while interpreting and applying complex material, data, and instructions.
Safety Considerations
