Job Title: Trailer Mechanic

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fuel tanker trucks and trailers.
The position includes responsibility for DOT inspections of trucks and tanker trailers but excludes engine or transmission work outside of preventive maintenance.
Mechanics must have their own tools, ideally a rolling toolbox.
Responsibilities
+ Promote safety in all actions. + Prepare repair orders in accordance with company policy. + Work effectively and safely within the shop area and when making road calls without supervision. + Complete records in a timely manner in compliance with company rules and requirements. + Comply with and continually update knowledge of all DOT regulations, federal, state, local, and company standards and requirements. + Maintain an environment of cleanliness and safety within the shop. + Dispose of all waste products, both hazardous and non-hazardous, responsibly. + Communicate with team members as required. + Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors as needed.
Essential Skills
+ High School Education or equivalent. + Willingness to obtain ASE Brake certification within the first 180 days of employment. + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. + Self-starter with detail-oriented work habits. + Meet qualification requirements in Sections 396.19 and 396.25 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. + Ability to safely operate tractor/trailer units within terminal premises. + Technical knowledge for treating various components such as air compressors, fuel pumps, hubs, wheels, and springs. + Knowledge of DOT regulations and federal, state, local, and company standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with DOT 406, 407, 412 Tanker/cargo tanker highly preferred. + ASE Brake certification highly preferred (must be willing to obtain). + Cargo tank inspection certification preferred (must be willing to obtain). + Experience with tanker trailers highly preferred (will consider flatbed trailer experience). + Basic mechanic skills and good interpersonal skills. + Demonstrated dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules. + CDL Class A is a plus but not required.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a normal shop setting with concrete floors, sometimes uneven and/or slippery surfaces.
Mechanics must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
The shop is equipped with two bays and requires the use of personal tools.

This is a Permanent position based out of Park City, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr. 401K medical vision dental PTO is offered and they also will send new hires to get their certifications to further their skill and also this will increase their hourly wage should they pass all certs.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Park City,KS.
