Transit Driver (Part-time)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Operates transportation vehicle with heightened awareness of driving conditions and surroundings and in observance of established safety precautions and driving procedures - Stops vehicle at assigned locations and destinations and assists passengers on and off vehicle renders sensitive assistance to riders with special needs. - Performs safety inspections and general maintenance of the vehicles; maintains vehicle cleanliness and sanitation - Assists with planning and operation of transportation routes; identifies efficient routes for daily activities - Submits recommendations for the improvement and enhancement of transportation program, ensuring the safety and comfort of patrons.
Works with city staff and city to effectively and safely provide customer-oriented transportation - Prepares daily logs and reports of transportation activities - Coordinates with volunteers to provide assistance as necessary - Provides general assistance and support in public services as necessary - Performs related duties as assigned - Works occasional overtime, weekends and on-call as required.
SKILLS AND
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) to four (4) years responsible experience in public transportation, or related work; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsement, and an acceptable driving record.
