Title: Truck Driver
Department: Highway Department
Reports to: Forman, Assistant Foreman
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 5:00pm, (on-call as necessary)
Subordinate Staff: Crew as assigned by Supervisor
Other Internal Contacts: Crew members of all work areas, all engineering personnel, warehouse crew
External Contacts: General public, Sheriff Department, Emergency Responders, and other government employees.

Job Summary
Truck Driver - Heavy
: Must have the ability to operate a dump truck and have a current Commercial Driver's License (Class B CDL) in good standing.
The employee must also be able to perform related manual work utilizing a weed eater, bush axe, shovel, vibratory compactors, chainsaw, etc.
in a safe, workman-like manner to maintain and improve County rights-of-way.
Employee shall be responsible for the dump truck and able to check to ensure the truck is in good working order daily including checking fluids, tire pressure, brakes, etc.
prior to beginning operations each day.
Employee shall be able to complete daily check lists for the truck and be responsible for scheduling maintenance for the truck and complete load tickets and daily activity reports as required by supervisor.
Employee shall also be able to operate mowing equipment and be willing to assist other crews within the department as needed.
Heavy Equipment Operator:
The employee must be able to safely and efficiently operate a backhoe, excavator, loader, steel rollers, mowing equipment, etc.
The employee will be responsible for the operation of selected equipment in the reconstruction, improvement, and maintenance of County roads, drainage ditches, and bridges.
The employee must also be able to perform related manual work utilizing a weed eater, bush axe, shovel, vibratory compactors, chainsaw, etc.
in a safe, workman-like manner to maintain and improve County rights-of-way.
Employee shall be responsible for routine equipment up-keep and perform daily equipment inspections including checking fluids, tire pressure, grease points, etc.
prior to beginning operations each day.
Employee must be able to complete daily equipment maintenance and maintenance reports, will be required to schedule monthly maintenance, and shall be able to complete daily activity reports as required by supervisor.
Employee must be willing to assist other crews within the department as needed.

Operations
1.
Operate dump truck.

Operate backhoe, excavator, loader, roller, mowing equipment, etc.
(Heavy Equipment Operator)
3.
Operate hand tools (shovel, bush axe, weed eater, etc.).
4.
May operate other equipment as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
5.
Perform routine manual labor with other crews as needed.
6.
Willing to respond to callouts when deemed necessary by the Supervisor.

Prior to operating equipment; perform safety and maintenance inspection of assigned equipment.
