Reports to:
Logistics Facilitator
SUMMARY
Drives all company trucks, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Adhere to all ISO requirements as stated in the Management Systems Procedures Manual.
Safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protect required at all times
Maintains highest personal esteem when at vendor locations and in public.
Drives truck to and from destinations.
Positions blocks and chains to secure cargo during transit.
Prepares receipts for loads picked up and delivered.
Maintains truck log(s) according to State and Federal regulations.
Maintains telephone / radio contact with supervisor(s) to receive delivery instructions.
Loads and unloads truck by forklift or hoist.
Puts materials away in their proper places / bins.
Ensures that trucks are kept clean on the inside.
Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
Reports any and all damage of trucks, chains, and strapos immediately.
Reports all vehicle maintenance issues immediately.
Performs other duties as instructed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have experience in 10, 13, and 18 speed transmissions.
At least 2 years experience
Self-motivated and works well without direct oversight
Ability to load and unload the truck numerous times a day and
Must be willing to work overtime as needed and work Saturdays
Must be willing to listen to directions and our daily goals
Must have State CDL-A License Must have good attendance
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Must have previous forklift certification or experience
No recent moving or driving violations
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
State CDL License required Deister forklift certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties o this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
