The Diesel Mechanic will report to the Shop Manager.
Here is what you will be doing but not limited to the following: + Perform road services, routine services, d iagnose problem, m aintain appropriate record, c hange/adjust brakes, change/mount tires, grease the CMVs, repair/replace lights, check/fill gear boxes, change oil/filter, check/change wheel bearings, change springs, clutch adjustment/ replacement, Steam-clean tractor/trailer units and other general cleanup duties such as the shop and grounds area + Understand/repair air brake system, repair steering component, repair Trailer Suspension + Responsible as a team with preventative maintenance practices for the facilit + Ensures all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirement, proper safety rules, maintenance and operating procedures Requirements of a successful Diesel Mechanic: + Mechanically inclined, k nowledge of electrical system, d iagnostic ability, u nderstanding of brake systems, a bility to perform annual inspections + CDL class A, and c omputer skills a plus + For safety reasons, must be able to read, write and understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English + Must have clean work habits and willing to learn and follow all company guidelines and policies Here are few of the physical requirements for this role: + Will have exposure to chemicals and materials including acid wash, solvents, greases and oil + Must be able to lift up to 60lbs, to climb under truck on creeper + Willing to enter confined spaces + May be required to work 12 or more hours per shift #IND1 Additional Information: + A complete job description is available upon request + Savage is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains a drug-free workplace + California Residents Job Application Privacy Notice https://savageco.com/careers/california-residents-job-applicant-privacy-notice/ Job Details Job Family Skilled Player Pay Type Hourly Hiring Min Rate 25.5 USD Hiring Max Rate 25.5 USD
