Southern Cross Transport, Tow and Recovery is a family owned and operated business located in downtown Sparta, Tennessee. Shawn and Tracey have over 30 years combined experience in long haul trucking and specialized transport. They were both born and raised on the West Coast and came to Tennessee in 1997 where they fell in love with the area and decided to make it their permanent home. In 2010, the couple decided that the time had come to make Shawn's dream of owning his own business a reality. Family is a very high priority for Shawn and Tracey. Providing the men with steady work and offering the women the opportunity to spend time with their children was at the core of their business plan and extends to every aspect of the way they run the business. Everybody gets treated with courtesy and respect. The business is headquartered in a building built in 1951 that was originally a Gulf Station. However, because of the company colors, the family is busy restoring it as a Texaco Station (without the pumps). Like everything at Southern Cross Transport, it's a family project and as soon as the men get off their collective asses, the restoration will get completed. The name of the business, "Southern Cross", while familiar as a celestial star grouping, really came from the song by Crosby, Stills and Nash. Listen to it sometime, and you'll see why Shawn and Tracey liked it enough to name their company after it.
