The task of relocating commercial cranes requires a variety of equipment and multiple trucks. It takes precise planning to coordinate the loading of heavy haul and accessory trucks as the job site crew dismantles the crane for transport. To simplify the loading process, a representative from Thomas Trucking is present at the loading site to assist the job supervisor. Multiple trucks are provided in a scheduled format to load each section of the crane as it is dismantled. With the assistance of brokerage division, Star Specialized Transport, we are able to provide the multiple trucks that are necessary to complete the relocation successfully and in a timely, organized manner. Many deliveries require us to get off the “beaten path” in order to accommodate our customer's needs. Deliveries beyond publicly maintained roadways are sometimes necessary and we do what it takes to accomplish these tasks safely. Well in advance of a remote delivery, we communicate with the location contact person regarding road conditions, access and local permit requirements. If necessary we personally visit the delivery location to make sure that it is possible for the required equipment to safely reach the destination. Once the initial delivery assessment is completed we proceed to take care of all the transportation details including acquiring route surveys, utility clearances and permits. The transportation of fiberglass products requires a delicate touch. Thomas Trucking provides services for all of your standard flatbed freight. All of our trucks are equipped with tarps, V-boards, pipe stakes, and coil racks to handle any type of steel, lumber, or pipe loads. We are also able to haul all types of equipment and other commodities on our standard flatbeds and step decks. We have specialized in over-sized fiberglass loads for many years and our drivers are very knowledgeable of the delicate handling required to safely transport and deliver these products without damaging them. We have successfully delivered 16’ wide swimming pools into confined residential areas as well as large tanks into tedious city locations such as the Bronx Community College in Bronx, NY. We specialize in transporting oversize freight and we have the equipment necessary to haul a wide variety of such loads. Providing the proper equipment is important, however, just as important is the knowledge and ability to comply with all the rules and permit requirements necessary to transport oversize loads. All 48 states have different rules, regulations and permit requirements for over-sized transportation. Our staff is experienced with acquiring the permits required to legally transport your loads. We take care of all the details including ordering route surveys and pilot cars and we review the permitted route very closely with our drivers so there are not any questions regarding the roadways they are allowed to travel.
